In her testimony, Dr. Blasey Ford shared the detailed story behind her allegations of sexual assault by U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Throughout the testimony, she was often on the verge of tears, with her voice breaking.

Rachel Butera, a voice actress who stars as General Leia in the upcoming “Star Wars Resistance” animated series, took to Twitter with a video mocking Dr. Blasey Ford’s “vocal fry”.

“I know it’s a surprise to even me that I talk this way and I’m a doctor and a grown woman,” Butera said in the video. “I sound like I’m still back at that high school party…um…I can’t help it, I just have this kind of a voice like a baby, even though I’m a doctor.”

Butera received immediate backlash online from people who found her video extremely offensive.
