Sharon Osbourne is officially leaving “The X Factor”.
In a statement on Facebook, Osbourne announced that she will not be returning for the ITV reality competition’s live episodes.
“‘The X Factor’ can confirm Sharon Osbourne has decided not to return to this year’s show,” a spokesperson for the UK reality competition told the BBC. “Sharon will always be a big part of ‘The X Factor’ family and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Osbourne had been slated to come on the show, which is currently in its 15th season, during the live rounds as an impartial judge.
The news comes after comments she made to Howard Stern last month on his SiriusXM show in which she said that “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell “loves to be on TV” and that he “will do whatever he has to do to get that f**king fat face on TV.”
Osbourne also expressed her relief to Stern that she did not have to participate in the audition round of the show this season.
“I don’t have to have those kids singing in my face,” she said. “They all suck, and it’s like: ‘is this karaoke or what?’”
