Kenan Thompson sure enjoyed watching “the circus unfold” during Kanye West’s appearance on Global’s “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend.
The comedian appeared on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Monday where the host brought up the pro-Trump rant West delivered to the studio audience at “SNL” after the show.
“He voiced his opinion—very loudly,” Thompson said. “For a long time.”
Meyers noted that West is not afraid to share his opinions, to which Thompson replied, “We’re all entitled to our opinions. I don’t know if that’s the moment, necessarily, to hold people hostage like that, but hey.”
Before starting his rant, West brought most of the show’s cast on stage to stand behind him but Meyers noticed that Thompson wasn’t there.
“Yeah, I had departed,” he said, adding that he was “for sure” happy with the choice he’d made.
“As soon as he said, ‘Hey, join me up on stage, everybody,’ I was like, ‘Oh, there goes the little cheese in the mousetrap; it’s going down.’”
