We are finally getting our first look at Christian Bale’s unlikely on-screen transformation into former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.

On Wednesday, the first full trailer for “Vice”, the new film from “The Big Short” director Adam McKay about the controversial political figure.
The film tells the “untold” story behind the most powerful Vice President in American history, with the trailer revealing the moment President George W. Bush offered Cheney the position, his heart attack and the infamous incident in which he shot his friend in the face while hunting.
Bale, in particular, has gone through a massive change in appearance to play the much older and balder Cheney.
Amy Adams plays Cheney’s wife Lynne in the film.

Sam Rockwell also stars in the film as Bush, with Steve Carrell as Donald Rumsfeld.
“Vice” is scheduled for release Dec. 25.
