Kim Kardashian was once offered a million-dollar sponsorship deal with a fashion brand — which she turned down after seeking some advice from husband Kanye West.
Speaking with model Ashley Graham in the inaugural edition of her new podcast “Pretty Big Deal”, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star revealed why she ultimately decided to leave a million bucks sitting on the table.
“I don’t want say who the brand is, but they typically knock off Yeezy” she said, revealing the million-dollar offer was for one sponsored Instagram post.
“So I said, ‘It is great money, but let me ask Kanye how he feels about it,’” the 37-year-old reality star told Graham.
As Kardashian recalled, West told her to turn it down, and she did.
Two weeks later, on Mother’s Day, West made it up to her. “He happened to be recording out of town and I get my flowers and whatever, and I get an envelope delivered to the door,” she continued. “I open the envelope and it is a million-dollar cheque and a note saying, ‘Thank you for always supporting me and not posting.’”
That wasn’t the only gift her husband left for her, however.
“In the rest of the envelope, it was a full, thick contract to be an owner of Yeezy to have my percentage,” she added, “and that was my Mother’s Day present.”
So what did she do with the cheque? “My mom was like, ‘Are you going to cash this?’ And I was like, ‘You better believe I am going to cash this!’ I have no shame. I did feel bad, but two days later, it was like, cashed!”
