Things are going to get interesting in season 4 of “Outlander”, according to stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe.
The duo sat down with Entertainment Weekly to spill the tea on the new season.
According to Heughan, season 4 is going to rock Claire and Jamie Fraser’s relationship: “Throughout the last three seasons, we’ve had them discover each other, go through this honeymoon period, and then try to establish themselves a home. This is an opportunity to really ground themselves and find a home together… Of course, it is ‘Outlander’ so things don’t run smoothly.”
The new season has the Frasers making their way from Georgia Beach to the Blue Ridge Mountains, and luckily for them, “Jamie’s very comfortable in the outdoors,” the actors joked.
Balfe said she was amazed at this season’s set, “It’s amazing because the forest in Scotland looked eerily similar to a forest in North Carolina.”
She added, “A lot of trees this season.”
But as for the characters, Heughan reiterated that they’re finding themselves: “Certainly, for Jamie, it’s been something that he’s desperately wanted for a long time. He’s always wanted to be the Laird, have his family, and settle down. Claire has finally come back to him and now they get this opportunity.”
Season 4 of the hit drama returns to the W Network on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
