Teri Hatcher is the latest woman to come forward with a story of sexual assault from her past, taking to Instagram to describe being sexually assaulted by her uncle when she was just five.

The open letter to President Donald Trump, the “Desperate Housewives” actress writes, “I’d like to take this opportunity to weigh in on the process of recalling a sexual assault,” adding the hashtags #metoo, #believe and #survivor.

Referencing Trump’s mocking of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony to the Senate during Brett Kavanaugh’s turbulent Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Hatcher itemizes all the horrific details she remembers about her assault, followed by what she doesn’t remember about her traumatic experience.

“Mr. President, I am a survivor, who stands available to help you understand the way the memories of a trauma like that work. It might be hard for you to understand. I can readily explain in detail that ‘I don’t remember’ is often the most honest response surrounding questions of an assault,” Hatcher writes.

“It does NOT mean it didn’t happen. Please do not add ‘Mocked by President’ to the injury list of a sexual survivor,” she concludes. “It’s just plain wrong.”
