Ashlee Margolis is the founder of The A List, an “experiential global marketing firm” that has earned a reputation for throwing some of Hollywood’s hottest parties, including the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, with this year’s event held on Saturday, Oct. 6
However, Margolis is being raked over the coals on Twitter by actress Niecy Nash, who alleges in a pair of scathing tweets that she was invited to the posh soiree only to have her invite “rescinded.”
Why? According to the “Claws” star, the reason has do with the colour of her skin, writing that she was disinvited because “I was the wrong calibre of guest… NOT white.”
She added: “Let’s see who makes the cut… smh.”
As Nash, 48, points out, she’s a two-time Emmy nominee who recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after building up an impressive resume of TV work on such series as “Reno 911!”, “Scream Queens”, “Getting On”, “The Soul Man” and “Claws”, which she describes as the “#1 summer show.”
While Nash doesn’t outline the details of what led to her invitation being rescinded, she flat-out accuses Margolis of being a racist in a followup tweet, writing, “you should be ashamed of yourself & the way you do business. I wouldn’t come to your event if you paid me. Wait u wouldn’t. Im not white.”
Margolis has yet to respond to Nash’s shocking allegation.
