Fans attending Foo Fighters’ headlining set at Cal Jam in San Bernadino, California, on Saturday had no idea they would be in for a rare treat: a surprise Nirvana reunion with some special guest stars on hand to help out.

As Rolling Stone reports, when Foo Fighters returned to the stage for an encore, frontman Dave Grohl headed behind the drum kit, with his former Nirvana band mate Krist Novoselic on bass, joined by John McCauley of Deer Tick and rock icon Joan Jett for a six-song set of Nirvana tunes.
