Katy Perry is clearing up any confusion over whether she intended to shade Lady Gaga and “A Star is Born” earlier this week.
The pop star shared a photo on Instagram of her tickets to film, which she saw on Monday, calling it “Incredibly moving and authentic.”
The theory that Perry was anti-Gaga started when Twenty One Pilots issued a tweet spoofing the poster for “A Star Is Born” to promote their new album “Trench”.
In their tweet, the pop duo encourage fans to “make the right decision today,” implying music lovers should purchase a copy of “Trench” instead of the “Star Is Born” soundtrack, with band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun portraying Gaga and co-star Bradley Cooper.
The tweet was liked by 128,000 people and counting, with one of those none other than Perry.
And then it began, as Perry instantly incurred the wrath of Lady Gaga’s passionate legion of fans:
However, others were quick to point out that Perry didn’t seem to be throwing shade at all, and that the whole thing was simply a joke.
