Struggling after a breakup, Rell (Jordan Peele) adopts a kitten who is then catnapped by the notorious 17th Street Blips. To get his precious kitty Keanu back, Rell and his cousin Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) need to ditch their suburban savvy and get in touch with their streetwise alter egos and dive into the city’s criminal underworld.
The hilarious action film harkens back to 2014’s John Wick and not just in terms of the name. Swap out the adorable puppy with kitten-napped do-rag wearing furry co-star, guns a-blazing action sequences and just a hint of George Michael for a LOL trailer you’ll want to re-watch all day.
Bringing their signature social satire on masculinity, race and pop culture, fans who have felt the loss of the duo’s Comedy Central show are sure to find solace in the sketch stretched for the big screen.
The film is slated for theatrical release on April 29 and co-stars Method Man, Tiffany Hadish, Jason Mitchell, Nia Long and Will Forte.
