If there’s one thing Will Ferrell knows, it’s that every song could use more cowbell.

The former star of Global’s “Saturday Night Live” stole the show during Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s performance at Ferrell’s “Best Night of Your Life” charity event on Saturday.
Martin was performing the song “Viva La Vida” when Ferrell gave him a good laugh by showing up on stage to accompany him on the cowbell, referencing a classic “SNL” sketch.
The “Best Night of Your Life” event featured a lineup of comedians and musicians, including Jimmy Kimmel, Jerry Seinfeld, James Corden, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Brad Paisley, and more.

Martin also led the other musicians at the event in a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”.
