Up-and-coming K-Pop artists NCT 127 have big things coming up.
The Korean group sat down with Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show on Monday and chatted about their first-ever English track “Regular” and a possible collaboration with DJ Khaled.
With “Regular” quickly climbing the charts, the group revealed singing in English was a bit of a challenge. “Even for us English speakers, it was hard because we were already used to recording in Korean and everything. But we’ve realized that we wanted to focus on spreading our music to the world. And so, we needed an English version of the song, and we wanted our international fans to listen to it, as well,” one of the group members explained.
“We thought that, as we were recording. So we also had to think of the vibe, as well, because it’s different from Korean. We wanted to deliver that the best way we could,” he added.
Later in the interview, the boy band FaceTimed DJ Khaled live on the air, who thanked them for being supportive fans.
“I wanna thank y’all for showing me love man, and saying you want to collaborate with me,” he told NCT 127. ” I’m honoured that you even think about working with me and I appreciate it. I’m ready, whatever you wanna do, I just wanna say y’all doing your thing, keep winning.”
The “No Brainer” producer then promised fans a collab is coming: “Yes, we got to do it. Why not? Why not? Listen, let’s make it happen. You know I’m about love and that’s what y’all about is love, and our fans worldwide… why not give them another one? You get what I’m saying?”
NCT 127’s first full-length album Regular-Irregular drops Oct. 12.
