Melissa McCarthy discusses everything from marriage to her kids’ Halloween costumes as she appears on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday.
The 48-year-old, who has been busy promoting her latest movie “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”, gets asked about celebrating her 13th wedding anniversary with husband Ben Falcone.
McCarthy, who has been with Falcone for 20 years in total, explains: “We had a very romantic evening at our house with [her ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ co-star] Richard E. Grant, we had friends over. He was like ‘Wait, is this your anniversary?’ And I’m like ‘Yes, you’re the gift.'”
The actress goes on to reveal the present she got her other half for the special occasion, admitting: “[I got him] the phone for senior citizens, it has huge buttons it’s fantastic,” before saying Falcone got her two beautiful rings.
McCarthy’s interview also sees her talk about always wanting to make her two daughters’ Halloween costumes, with her explaining how they’re dressing up as a cactus and the Big Bad Wolfette this year.
When discussing her new movie, she then gets asked whether she’s ever stolen anything, to which she replies: “I did steal a Chunky [candy bar] once [when I was four or five]. We get in the car and I’m just sweating bullets, but I’m like ‘I got away with that Chunky.'”
However, McCarthy adds that her mom ended up making her go back to the store to pay for it.
