Lady Gaga snags her fifth number one album and Bradley Cooper earns his first number one album.
It should come as no surprise Gaga topped the album charts, but did not anyone expect to see Cooper with a number one record?
Off the heels of their critically acclaimed movie “A Star is Born”, the tandem released the movie’s official soundtrack. A Star Is Born (2018 Soundtrack) quickly rocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart with 231,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 11.
Gaga is now officially the female artist with the most chart-topping albums this decade: A Star Is Born (2018), Joanne (2016), Cheek to Cheek — with Tony Bennett — (2014), ARTPOP (2013) and Born This Way (2011).
The Greatest Showman Soundtrack has been a Billboard darling all year with 1.24 million albums sold in 2018, but A Star Is Born scored the biggest overall week for a movie soundtrack since the Fifty Shades of Grey album in 2015.
