Tara Reid was turfed from a Delta Airlines flight as it prepared to take off from LAX after she reportedly “flew into a rage” over where she was seated.
According to TMZ — which also obtained footage taken by one of the “Sharknado” star’s fellow passengers — the 42-year-old actress and her small dog were sent packing from a Delta flight headed to New York City on Monday.
“Witnesses tell us Tara was [upset] and loudly complained about being given the wrong seat,” reports TMZ, adding that she was not happy that she wasn’t sitting in a window seat, and reportedly said she felt cramped because the woman sitting in front of her had reclined her seat.
“She later [griped] about not being given a pillow. Flight attendants tried diffusing the situation,” TMZ adds, “but it was too little, too late.”
TMZ reports that the pilot had already left the gate when passengers were informed the plane was turning around because of a “customer service issue.”
In a statement on Instagram, Reid claimed that a flight attendant had requested that she put her dog in the overhead big, and that after being offered other options she “gracefully declined and deboarded the plane of my own accord.”
Reid added, “I don’t appreciate the false reporting from TMZ adding to false claims about what truly went on.”
A Delta spokesperson tells TMZ that the flight eventually took off, while Reid boarded a different flight.
In a statement to ET, Delta said that Reid and her dog were removed from the flight due to a “disturbance on board” and that the plane “returned to the gate, prior to takeoff.”
The statement continued: “Delta apologizes to the remaining customers for the inconvenience and appreciates their patience as the situation was resolved. The flight re-departed for New York following a short delay.”
In the video above, Reid can be seen speaking with a flight attendant before complying with his request that she exit the plane.
