Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Politely Ignore Radio Prankster On The Streets Of Australia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle laughed off an awkward encounter during their first visit to Australia as a couple.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their way through the streets of Sydney, but while interacting with the crowd, Harry ran into an old acquaintance.

In a video posted by the Austrailian radio show “Kyle & Jackie O”, Pete Deppeler, aka Intern Pete from the program shouted out to the royals recalling a moment with Harry from a solo trip in the past. During his last appearance on the show, Intern Pete told Harry the “floor is lava,” but the Duke didn’t remember the interview.

“Harry! It’s me! Intern Pete, I talk to you every year! Kyle and Jackie O wanted to be first to say congratulations on becoming a father,” Pete can be heard saying in the clip.

“Very nice to meet, thank you very much,” Harry kindly laughed presumably ignoring their last encounter.

Later, Pete ran into Markle.

The former “Suits” actress was greeting the crowd with Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales, who knows about Deppeler antics, introduced Markle to the host.

“Hi Meghan, I’m Pete, I’m one of Gladys’ best friends,” to which Berejiklian replied, “He’s a radio personality.”
