The brand new trailer for “The Aftermath” has been unveiled ahead of the eagerly anticipated movie’s April 26, 2019 release date.
Based on Rhidian Brook’s novel, the film stars Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard and is directed by James Kent.
In the adapted screenplay written by the “Race” and “Frankie & Alice” writing duo, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, Knightley takes on the role of Rachael Morgan, who makes the journey to post-WWII Hamburg in the middle of winter to reunite with her husband Lewis (played by Jason Clarke).
Rachael can be seen telling her other half in one part of the trailer: “You didn’t tell me what I was walking into. This isn’t how it was supposed to be.”
But, then things end up getting pretty steamy between her and Skarsgard’s character, Stefan Lubert. “I never thought that I could be happy like this,” Knightley’s character tells Skarsgard’s character.
The movie opens in theatres on April 26, 2019.
