Busy Philipps is thanking her best friend Michelle Williams for saving her marriage.
The “Busy Tonight” talk show host, 39, opened up about a crucial time in her marriage to husband Mark Silverstein in the new memoir, This Will Only Hurt a Little.
Philipps admitted she took emotional refuge in another man when she and Silverstein hit a rough patch.
“There was a man I was friends with, another dad. We’d been having lunch and stuff. Texting. Talking on the phone a lot,” Philipps wrote. “Honestly, I had a crush on him. I like him. Maybe I even loved him? He clearly liked me too.”
But when she asked Silverstein for a divorce, he and her former “Dawson’s Creek” co-star told her to give it another chance.
According to Philipps, Williams said, “It would be really awful for two years and then you would find a new normal but honestly, if you can keep your family intact, I think you should do it.”

She reveals they took to therapy and figured things out: “This time, Marc got his own therapist. And we started to work through it. But I also kept talking to my emotional boyfriend (for lack of a better term). I know. That part is so s**ty. I’m sorry. I really am. I really truly am.”
Phillips and Silverstein have been married for over 10 years and share two daughters together, 10-year-old Birdie Leigh and 5-year-old Cricket Pearl.
