As Halloween fast approaches, Canadians are getting into the spooky spirit by searching for the perfect Halloween costume.
According to Google Trends, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and reality queen Kim Kardashian are what Canadians are most interested in dressing up as this year.
Trudeau and Kardashian nabbed the first and second spots on the Top Searched Halloween Costumes in Canada list followed by a unicorn and the characters from “Paw Patrol”. Halloween classics like the devil and a cat sit at number five and six, respectively. Hockey star Conner McDavid and U.S. President Donald Trump follow behind. While Tom Hardy’s “Venom”, “Pokemon”, “Peppa Pig” and the kids from “Stranger Things” round out the top 10.
The trends in baby costumes follow what’s been trending in 2018, with “Baby Shark” as the year’s favourite. Adorable options like a unicorn, a pumpkin, an avocado, skunk and lion round out the rest of the top five.
Couples costumes have a wide range of options, with Bonnie and Clyde as the most searched. Sonny and Cher, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy from “Spongebob Squarepants”, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell from “Peter Pan” and Boo and Sully of Disney’s “Monster’s Inc.” are other front-runners.
In the past 90 days, costumes for a unicorn, Harley Quinn, a cat, “Peppa Pig” and Thanos from “The Avengers” have been the top trending costumes in Canada.
