Jamie Dornan is “excited” for fans to see the upcoming “Robin Hood” reboot.
Speaking with ET Canada in a Canadian exclusive as the face of the new Boss fragrance campaign, Boss The Scent, the 36-year-old Northern Irish actor opens up about his new fictional role as Will Scarlet, one of Robin Hood’s Merry Men.
Revealing what attracted him to the role, he says, “There’s no point in making it unless you’re going to turn it on its head and do something that hasn’t been done before. I think the opportunity to be involved in that was exciting to me. And to be part of an ensemble cast of some really amazing people was very enticing.”
Addressing the film, which also stars Taron Egerton as Robin Hood and Jamie Foxx as Little John, Dornan adds, “It’s exciting. I’m excited for people to see it.”
Meanwhile, the actor has been busy promoting his Boss The Scent campaign, which sees him star in a new fragrance video ad alongside model Birgit Kos.
On continuing his relationship with the Hugo Boss brand, he says, “It was cool. I’ve had a longstanding relationship with them. First campaign I did for them as a model was in 2003, I think. So, you know, it’s a long time.”
Dornan, who also exclusively revealed to ET Canada that he is expecting his third child with his wife Amelia Warner, admits however that while it was fun to act in the fragrance film he was not as keen on returning to his modelling roots.
“To be honest, I’m still very uncomfortable with that,” he says. “I don’t enjoy that process. It has nothing to do with who’s taking the photographs. It’s just me and my insecurities and not enjoying that part of it. But, you know, I got through it.”
