Who knew Hillary Clinton had such strong feelings about the character dynamics in “The Fast and the Furious”?
That’s what viewers of Global‘s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” learned on Friday night when the former First Lady and Secretary of State appeared in a filmed segment in which she answers questions posed to her by the show’s staffers.
After being questioned about her greatest accomplishment as Secretary of State and favourite political movie (“The Manchurian Candidate”, she answers in a sly dig at the current president), one of the show’s writers poses this one: “The Rock or Vin Diesel?”
“What a tough question,” Clinton responds, displaying a ridiculously meticulous knowledge about the interpersonal relationships in the “Fast and Furious” franchise.
“The ‘Fast and the Furious’ movies proved that both are masters of high-octane action,” she opines. “While the Rock is an indispensable part of the later films, Vin Diesel is really the heart and the centre of the Toretto family, and in the end, everyone is better off when they’re able to look past what divides them and work together.”
The questions get sillier from there as Clinton helps a staffer named Emily find her missing keys and assists another in identifying “the guy who’s so good in that thing.”
