Kanye, Kavanaugh And More Audition To Play Big Bird In Hilarious ‘Late Show’ Spoof

“Sesame Street” is losing its most venerable puppeteer, with 84-year-old Caroll Spinney revealing he’s retiring after playing such beloved characters as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since the iconic show’s debut in 1969.

While the beloved children’s show looks to find a replacement for Spinney, Global‘s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”  wants to know who will take over the role of Big Bird.

To answer the question, the show served up a hilarious video of Big Bird auditions, with a variety of newsmakers putting their own spin on the character.

First up is controversial Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who repeatedly declares his overwhelming love of beer.

He’s followed by Kanye West, who talks at length about his favourite topic: Kanye West.

Other auditioners include InfoWars’ Alex Jones ranting about a bizarre conspiracy theory and President Donald Trump, who has this to say to the children of America: “You’re losers.”

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on Global; you can also watch full episodes online.
