Paula Abdul was performing at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi, on Saturday night when the “Straight Up” singer went straight down, taking a step too far and tumbling off the edge of the stage.
In fan-shot video from the show (above), the former “American Idol” judge can be seen singing “The Promise of a New Day” when she apparently lost sight of her footing, stepping into thin air and falling off the stage.
As the video ends, an audible thud can be heard, apparently the sound of the 56-year-old ex-Laker Girl hitting the ground.
TMZ reports that Abdul made a quick comeback as audience members helped her back on stage. “It’s unclear if she hurt herself, but she didn’t show it.”
According to a statement from Abdul’s rep, “Paula is fortunately not injured and was able to continue the show. She is excited to continue the tour!”
The onstage accident comes just one day after she was forced to cancel a show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, which was axed due to a “production issue.” She addressed the cancellation on social media:
