Ryan Murphy recently signed a massive deal with Netflix, reported to be in the range of $300 million, and the producer of such TV hits as “American Horror Story” and “Glee” is using some of those millions to help fund Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, Murphy shared an adorable photo of his four-year-old son, Ford, along with an emotional story.

“Two years ago, this sweet little innocent boy with a deep belly laugh and an obsession with Monster Trucks was diagnosed with neuroblastoma…an often fatal pediatric cancer,” writes Murphy of the son he shares with husband David Miller.
According to Murphy, a routine check up by his son’s pediatrician discovered “an abdominal tumour the size of a tennis ball.” After “a huge surgery and several difficult procedures,” Ford is now “thriving.”

To show their gratitude to the hospital, “we are donating a wing in tribute to Ford and our family is making a gift of $10 million so that other children can experience the love and care of this exceptional facility… we are so honoured and lucky to contribute, and encourage everybody who can to do the same.”
