Drake Beats The Beatles’ Record For Most Top-10 Singles In A Year, And His Favourite Teacher Texts Him The News

Champagne Papi has done it again!

According to Billboard, Drake has just set a new record previously held by The Beatles, thanks to his featured performance on Bad Bunny’s new single “MIA”, which just hit #5 on the Billboard Top 100.

The chart position of “MIA” marks Drake’s 12th single this year to land in the top 10; this shatters the record previously held by the Fab Four, who charted 11 top-10 singles back in 1964  at the height of Beatlemania.

Before we start calling 2018 the year of “Drizzymania,” The Beatles still hold some even more impressive records, including six #1 singles within a single year, along with 10 top-five hits in that same year — an achievement that no other artist has yet to achieve.

Still, Drake’s momentous Beatle-busting achievement caught the attention of someone special from his past: his favourite teacher from high school, who sent a text (yes, they text each other!) to congratulate him and ask what his 16- or 17-year-old self would have thought about it.

He responded with texted laughter, followed by: “I don’t think my 16 or 17 year old self would comprehend I would just want a Nestea and to figure out how I can turn my 61% into a 73% ASAP.”
