“The Conners” star Emma Kenney isn’t holding back in a new anti-fur rant for PETA.
“Imagine if your leg got crushed or cut to the bone in a steel trap and, no matter how loudly you cried out for help, nobody came to your rescue,” 19-year-old Kenney says in the video. “Or that you spent your life crammed inside of a cage then got poisoned, beaten, or electrocuted before being skinned alive. You’d wish you were just having a bad dream!”
Kenney calls out wearing fur as a dated fashion statement in the PSA, pointing out that it’s anything but “fresh.” The “Shameless” actress also reminds viewers that much of the fur used in fashion design comes from China, the world’s largest fur exporter, where dogs and cats are slaughtered for their fur.
“So forget fur,” Kenney declares. “In fact, f*** fur!”
Joined in the video by her adopted dog, Charles, Kenney shares looking fashionable without real fur is possible, commending designers, including Gucci, Armani, Michael Kors, Burberry, and more for refusing real fur.
This isn’t the first time Kenney has spoken out against animal cruelty.
Two years ago, she partnered with PETA to rally against puppy mills.
