The Washington Capitals are wondering “why” an adult hockey fan stole a hockey puck meant for a child.
The official Twitter account for the NHL team shared a clip of a sweet moment when goalie Braden Holtby tossed a puck to a group of kids on the other side of the glass.
Before the puck could land in one of their little hands, however, a grown man standing off to the side reached out and swiped it for himself — and then celebrated.
The Capitals’ Twitter team shaded the man by sharing video of the act:
In the video, Holtby can be seen standing by the kids, staring at the man in disbelief before the clip cuts out.
This seems to be a trend with Holtby fans. Back in April, the 29-year-old tossed the puck to a young fan but it was swiftly intercepted by a man in a suit standing behind the child.

Holtby then threw another but motioned the man out of the way first.
