Drake and Scooter Braun have invested in Esports company 100 Thieves, it’s been confirmed.

It was revealed Tuesday that Braun, who has worked with the likes of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, and Drake had joined the organization as it completed its Series A funding round.

The company is labelled a “Los Angeles-based lifestyle, apparel, and Esports organization” and was founded by former “Call of Duty” world champion and YouTube sensation Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag.

The brand currently has teams competing in “League of Legends”, “Fortnite”, which Drake is known to be a fan of, “Call of Duty”, and “Clash Royale”.

Braun said in a press release posted on the official website, “With Matt’s experience, talent, and vision as a professional gamer he and his team have built one of the most authentic brands in the ever-evolving gaming space.

“We are honoured to join the 100 Thieves family during this exciting phase of their professional journey. I personally could not be more thrilled for 100 Thieves. This is just the beginning.”

The press release also stated that 100 Thieves had raised over $25 million in funding to date from investors including the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans chairman Dan Gilbert. It added that “apparel collaborations” were already underway with Drake.

The news sparked quite the social media reaction, with many pointing out that it was a clever business move.
