Kesha’s latest music video is a powerful acoustic performance, very different compared to her party bangers “TiK ToK” and “Timber”.
The talented multi-platinum singer has expanded her genres over the past few months and “Here Comes The Change” is another example of her versatility.
“Here Comes The Change” was written for the upcoming biographical drama film “On the Basis of Sex”. The black-and-white visuals were directed by Jonas Akerlund, who also took charge of Kesha’s Grammy-nominated song “Praying”.
The music video is also sprinkled with previously unseen snippets from “On the Basis of Sex”. The biopic tells the true story of a young U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her husband’s efforts to overturn a century of gender discrimination by bringing a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals.
The film’s director Mimi Leder specifically had Kesha in mind when mulling over the movie’s soundtrack, “because her passionate voice and immense talent magnify the social justice imperatives Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to fight for every day.”
“On the Basis of Sex” stars Felicity Jones, Armie Hammer and Justin Theroux and premieres in theatres on Christmas Day 2018 – the 25th anniversary of Justice Ginsburg’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court.
