Shawn Mendes channels the 2003 movie “Lost in Translation” in his new music video for “Lost In Japan”.

The 20-year-old stars alongside “13 Reasons Why” actress Alisha Boe in the recently released clip, with the pair having an on-screen romance after falling in love in an elevator.

Boe even dons the pink wig, just like Scarlett Johansson does as she leans on Bill Murray’s shoulder in the Sofia Coppola-directed movie.

As is the case with every other Mendes music video, it didn’t take long for the clip to get people talking online.

“Lost In Japan” features on Mendes’ self-titled new album but didn’t originally feature Zedd.

In September the music producer released his own remix of the catchy tune, with the track becoming a viral sensation for both artists.

They then took the stage at the American Music Awards earlier this month, with Zedd playing the piano and Mendes on the acoustic guitar.
