Jennifer Garner Talks Her Organic Health Food Company At Innovation Festival

Jennifer Garner hit the stage to discuss her organic food company, Once Upon A Farm, on Thursday in New York.

The 46-year-old actress is the chief brand officer of the healthy food company, which makes fresh fruit and vegetable smoothie pouches for infants and children. Garner spoke of the company’s mission statement, which strives to provide nutritious and fresh food options for kids to “prepare for a lifetime of health.”

Speaking of her involvement with the organization, Garner told the crowd she wanted to get involved with something beneficial to children, joking about feeding her own three kids: Violet, 12,  Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6.

“It seems to me my kids are hungry at least three times a day and it’s usually not meals that I put right in front of them, it’s in-betweens. I see kids at school with hungry bellies and they might even have big bellies but that means they’re having nothing nutritious.”

After relaying a story about seeing a school lunch program in effect, Garner said, “We’ve got to do a better job at feeding our kids. It’s the most fundamental [thing].”

“You can’t ask kids to learn and be kindergarten-ready and succeed and thrive if we’re not putting good, healthy, nutritious food into their bellies,” she exclaimed.

Garner’s appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival comes just as reports surfaced that she’s been quietly dating someone else in the food industry: John Miller, CEO of U.S. burger chain CaliBurger.
