Fergie didn’t win any rave reviews for her performance of the U.S. national anthem at this year’s NBA All-Star Game, a bizarre take on the oft-sung song that can charitably be described as “unique.”
In fact, Fergie’s rendition of the anthem was made even more embarrassing when video from the game showed late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and NBA stars including LeBron James and Draymond Green smirking as they try to hold back laughter.
After the ensuing backlash, Fergie felt the need to apologize. “I’ve always been honoured and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA,” she said. “I’m a risk-taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone.”
All these months later, Fergie’s ex-husband Josh Duhamel remains irked at how she was treated, and singles out Golden State Warriors star Green, whom he thinks owes her an apology.
In an interview, Duhamel admits he “was pissed off at Draymond Green first of all, I thought he owed her an apology. I thought he was kind of a prick. Just because he knew the camera was on him and he snickered about it.”

He continues: “And I just thought that if he would have been a real man he would have at least called her and said ‘listen, I’m sorry that I caused all this.'”
Added Duhamel: “That’s what a real man would have done, in my opinion.”
The Warriors clearly got wind of Duhamel’s interview, and in an apparent response created a dance remix of Fergie’s anthem performance for the team’s post-game celebration on Friday night, which somehow manages to be even funnier than the original. Watch:
