The world is reacting in horror after an armed gunman opened fire in a Pittsburgh synagogue, with 10 people confirmed dead and several others injured, including four police officers.
According to an eyewitness, the gunman was armed with an AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifle as he walked into the building and yelled, “All Jews must die.”
Asked for a response, President Donald Trump offered no solace or guidance for Americans, instead asserting his theory that the problem isn’t guns getting into the wrong hands, but not enough guns being brought inside America’s places of worship.
“If there was an armed guard inside the temple, they would have been able to stop him,” Trump told reporters, insisting America’s lax gun-control laws “have little to do with it” while calling for the death penalty.
Since the news emerged, celebrities have been taking to social media to share their feelings about the latest incident of gun violence on U.S. soil — and the president’s response.
