“BBC Breakfast” anchor Steph McGovern had a hilarious moment on live television while talking about Donald Trump.
McGovern joined BBC One’s talk show “Have I Got News For You” as a guest on Monday when she recalled a “creepy” moment before an interview a few years back – but dry-heaved while telling the story.
“I’ve once met Trump,” the host said. “[It] just makes me feel a bit sick just thinking of that… he was creepy, man.”
She revealed that Trump told her that she was “so beautiful” and that he needed to “leave the room” to make himself “look better.”
According to McGovern, Trump said, “‘If we do this interview now, everyone is just going to be staring at you and not listening to me.'”
After explaining the cringe-worthy conversation, McGovern began to gag causing the rest of the panel to erupt in laughter.
“He thought that would be the best way to disarm me,” she continued. “He thought as a female journalist, he thought that was the best thing to say to me rather than: ‘Oh, I watched your piece on mobile phone insurance last week.”‘
McGovern interviewed Trump in 2012.
