Little Mix have responded after Cardi B went on an epic rant about how she got offered the track “Woman Like Me” before Nicki Minaj, who is featured on the band’s latest single.
The British group, which consists of Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, insisted they “love and respect” both Minaj and Cardi in a Twitter post Tuesday.
They also shared messages on Instagram to, once again, clarify that they approached Minaj first, calling the “Anaconda” rapper their “Queen.”
The band’s profile then posted a montage of clips showing just how much they’ve always wanted to work with Minaj, as well as a series of text messages.
The girls’ comments come after Cardi ranted: “That ‘Woman Like Me’ record? Yeah, I had to decline it because I’m doing a lot of pop records so I can’t over exaggerate myself.
“But that came to me first.”
