Tyler Perry’s well-known “Madea” franchise is coming to an end.

While appearing on Sirius XM radio on Oct. 29, the actor announced that he would be retiring the beloved comedic character.

“I’m doing one last tour in 2019, the Farewell World Tour, and the last movie is ‘Madea Funeral’ that I shot two years ago,” Perry revealed. “We gonna say goodbye in [2019]”.

“I just don’t want to be her age playing her,” the 49-year-old added.

Madea was 68 when she was first introduced 20 years ago and has been a part of a number of Hollywood productions, ranging from TV, films and theatre. Over the years, just her films alone have made over $500 million worldwide.

The final film, “Tyler Perry’s a Madea Family Funeral” and the Farewell World Tour will take place sometime in 2019, however dates have yet to be announced.
