If you live in the Detroit area, you will definitely want to take Eminem up on his offer and attend a free screening of “Bodied”.
After producing several music videos throughout his career, the rapper is trying his hand at co-producing a feature film, directed by Joseph Kahn and written by Alex Larsen (who stars as rapper Kid Twist).
“8 Mile” fans can look forward to the satirical comedy, which centres on the world of rap battles that proved essential to Eminem’s career.
The man of many talents promoted the flick on Instagram, announcing he bought out a theatre in his hometown and tickets are on him this weekend.
Tickets are one per person, allowing as many fans to attend as possible.
After a wide response from fans, it is sure the tickets will be gone in a flash and there will not be an open seat in the house!
In the satirical film, Canadian actor Calum Worthy plays Adam Merkin, a grad student who is writing his thesis on rap battles by exploring the use of the N-word, but discovers his own talent along the way.
“Bodied” also stars Jackie Long, Shoniqua Shondai and Walter Perez. Plus, among the supporting cast are popular battle rappers Dizaster, Dumbfoundead, Hollow Da Don and TV personality Charlamagne tha God.
For those of us who are not lucky enough to catch the movie for free in Detroit, ‘Bodied” is hitting theatres today and will be available on YouTube Premium November 28th.
