HBO is not happy with Donald Trump.
The cable network slammed the U.S. president for using “Game of Thrones” imagery and language to promote the upcoming sanctions against Iran.
Earlier Friday, Trump’s official Twitter account shared a photo of the POTUS with a text overlay reading, “Sanctions are coming,” matching the iconic style of the HBO hit series. The “Game of Thrones” slogan reads “Winter is coming.”
In a statement, HBO said, “We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes.”
Stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who play sisters Arya and Sansa, respectively, on the drama, responded to Trump on Twitter.
The White House has yet to respond to HBO.
