It’s been 15 long years since Derek Zoolander, International Male Model, graced us with his really, really, really ridiculous good looks on the big screen and now – this weekend – he and his sidekick Hansel are back!
Plenty of celebrities are also along for the ride – you can expect cameos from Kiefer Sutherland to Sting and even Justin Bieber in the sequel.

Rick Campanelli sat down with Zoolander and Hansel’s alter-egos – Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson – to get the lowdown on the Biebs’ performance. “He has a natural, natural Blue Steel,”; admits Stiller of the Canadian-born singer-by-day, Calvin Klein model-by-night. “That was the one area I didn’t have to give him any direction.”;
Stiller created that signature look well over a decade ago and reveals the secret behind pulling it off to Rick.

“There’s a blankness that has to be inside at the back of your head,”; Stiller explains. “Just a thoughtlessness.”;
The original movie wasn’t exactly a box office smash, but since its release in 2001 it has become a cult classic.
“It’s fun to do a movie that you never anticipated doing a sequel – not because we didn’t want to – but because there was no demand,”; says Wilson.
Stiller, who is also the film’s director and co-writer, was more than happy to hit the catwalk again: “It was fun to spend time with Owen because we don’t see each other that often.”;
Now in the sequel, the stakes are quite high as the world’s most beautiful people are being killed off and Interpol enlists the two male models to help with the investigation.
Penelope Cruz signs on as agent Valentina Valencia – for Stiller this bit of casting was a no-brainer. “We wanted to have this sexy, dashing Interpol agent,”; Stiller says. “She was the only choice.”;
“Zoolander 2″ hits theatres Feb. 12.
