The singer introduced Angela Trimbur at Jewel’s show at the Casino Morongo in California on Thursday. Trimbur, an actress and dancer, had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
A friend of Trimbur’s reached out to Jewel to help organize a way “to have the most beautiful, life-affirming pick-me-up” for Trimbur. Jewel invited Trimbur to perform a duet with her.
“To my true unbeknownst disbelief she asked me to join her onstage,” Trimbur captured a video of the performance.
“I was so shocked and I cried on the walk up and she was so friggin’ nice and then she said ‘do you sing?'” the 37-year-old dance revealed. “[Jewel] started strumming one of my childhood favourites‘ Hands’.”
