Report: Meghan Markle’s Mother Doria Ragland To Join The Royal Family’s Christmas Celebrations At Sandringham

It looks like the Royal Family will be adding a seat to their Christmas table this holiday season.

According to both the Express and the Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth II has invited Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, to join the Royal Family’s Christmas festivities at Sandringham.

Although this particular dinner at the Norfolk estate is an annual event, many royal insiders note the significance of the “thoughtful gesture” — Her Majesty has never extended an offer like this before, not even to Prince William’s in-laws, the Middletons.

A source adds, “It’s a mark of the Queen’s respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn’t have any other relations in this country — unlike Kate, who has the support of a very close family.”

The House Of Windsor have previously arranged for the Duchess Of Cambridge’s family to join them at church on Christmas morning but they did not stay at Sandringham.

The invitation is fuelling speculation that Doria — who is currently based in Los Angeles — may remain in London for the duration of Meghan’s first pregnancy.

Doria’s composure during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding back in May left a lasting impression on the Queen, especially in the midst of all the drama surrounding Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle.

Kensington Palace said “No comment” when asked by ET Canada.
