Laura Ingraham wasn’t going to let Taylor Swift live down her recent jump into politics.
On Tuesday night, the candidate Swift endorsed in the U.S. Senate in Tennessee, former governor Phil Bredesen, was defeated by his opponent, Marsha Blackburn.
The host of Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” took to Twitter after the results came in to chide Swift, quoting lyrics from her song “Shake It Off”.
Blackburn then appeared on “Fox & Friends” the morning after she won the Senate race in Tennessee, with her also saying: “Well, I hope Taylor will shake it off.”
She then assured Swift and her fans that they “have an open door with me,” the Washington Post reported.
Swift did not respond to the shade nor did she comment on the election results Tuesday night.
However, one person who jumped to her defence is frequent collaborator Joseph Kahn, who directed Swift’s music videos for “Blank Space”, “Bad Blood” and others — even coming up with a potential Democratic ticket for 2040:
Earlier in the day, the singer posted a video reminding her fans to head out to the polls to cast their vote in the midterm elections.
Last month, Swift surprised fans by breaking her silence on politics and endorsing Bredesen in a lengthy Instagram post.
Throughout the campaign she posted her support of the candidate, including an Instagram Stories post letting fans know when she had voted on Tuesday.
BuzzFeed News reported last month that Swift’s endorsement had caused a serious spike in voter registration across the country.
