The wait will soon be over, with Showcase announcing that season two of Outlander will debut on Sunday, April 10.

The long-awaited second season of Showcase’s most-watched series finds Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) arriving in France, hell-bent on infiltrating the Jacobite rebellion and stopping the battle of Culloden.

They quickly discover the lavish world of French society conceals political intrigue and hidden agendas, and the crushing responsibility of their attempt to change the course of history weighs heavily on the very fabric of their relationship.

However, armed with the knowledge of what lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must race to prevent a Highland uprising that is doomed to fail, leading to the extinction of Scottish life as they know it.
