Catherine Zeta-Jones is the latest big movie star to make the jump to a web series.
The Oscar winner plays renowned and ruthless pageant coach Vicki Ellis in Facebook Watch’s upcoming dark comedy “Queen America”.
Ellis hopes to transform the beautiful and naive Tulsa native Samantha (Belle Shouse) into a star of the local pageant scene. The series explores the charm and the horrors of the pageant circuit.
“It is a dissection of the American Dream as it manifests in the small towns of our country,” a press release for the show reads. “Where opportunities are scarce and beauty pageants are often a ticket out.”
“Queen America” premieres Nov. 18 on Facebook Watch. The 10-episode series debuts with three episodes and releases weekly Sundays at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.
