Rumours have been swirling that Chris Pratt will be joining the upcoming “Indiana Jones” sequel, potentially playing Indie’s son in order to restart the franchise (producers have confirmed that Shia LaBeouf, who played the role in 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, won’t be returning).

Star Harrison Ford, who’s played the swashbuckling archeologist since 1981’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, was asked whether Pratt would be joining the upcoming “Indiana Jones 5”, and he didn’t seem too keen on the idea.

Speaking with Variety‘s Marc Malkin on the red carpet at Thursday’s SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 3rd Annual Patron Of The Artists Awards, Ford, 76, quipped, “I think it’s him or me.”

However, it’s important to note that Ford is notoriously tight-lipped, and his comments could be misdirection to shift attention away from Pratt’s participation, if in fact that is what’s happening.

While Pratt joining the franchise remains a rumour, Ford did have some additional info to share about the upcoming sequel.

“We’ve got a script in production that we’re all very excited about,” he said. “We’re looking forward to it.”

The oft-delayed “Raiders of the Lost Ark” sequel is scheduled to hit theatres on July 9, 2021.
