Halsey Extols The Virtues Of ‘Inconvenient’ Women At Glamour Women Of The Year Summit

Not only did Halsey make a surprise appearance on this week’s edition of “Saturday Night Live”, the following day she delivered a powerful poem with an important point at Glamour‘s 2018 Women of the Year Summit.

Speaking onstage at the event on Sunday, the 24-year-old singer shared her thoughts on what it means to be an “inconvenient woman.”

“Brutally honest, outspoken and fearless,” said Halsey (above).

“Goes with their gut, never favours appearance,” she continued, because “who has time for vanity with opponents to extinguish?”

Her point: the same qualities that lead a man to be declared a “genius” will lead a woman to be labelled “an inconvenience.”

She concludes her poem by declaring, “I’m here to say that I’m not sorry / For being… inconvenient. / You were not put on this earth to make everybody else’s life easier. / So please, be inconvenient.”
