Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews have decided on a name for their first child, giving their infant son a moniker that pays tribute to Matthews’ late brother.
The Daily Mail reports that the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband have named their son, who was born last month, Arthur Michael William Matthews.
As the Mail notes, the tot’s second name is in honour of Matthew’s younger brother, Michael Matthews, who passed away while climbing Mount Everest in 1999 during an attempt to become the youngest Briton to climb the world’s highest mountain peak.
In the years after his brother’s death, James Matthews honoured his brother’s memory by launching the Michael Matthews Foundation, which raises money for poverty-stricken regions in Asian and Africa.
