Rebel Wilson couldn’t have said it better.
The “How To Be Single”; star has had enough of sappy award season speeches and long-winded discussions of diversity, so when she took the stage at the 2016 British Academy Film Awards in London on Sunday night, she chose to make us laugh.
The 35-year-old comedian presented the award for Best Supporting Actor at the BAFTAs, and, in the process, she poked fun at the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it’s so good to be here at this really serious event,” Rebel joked. “I’ve never been invited to the Oscars, because as you know, they are racists. The BAFTAs have diverse members, and that’s what we all want to see in life isn’t it, diverse members.”
She continued, proclaiming her love for “Beasts Of No Nation”; actor, Idris Elba. “Sorry, Idris Elba you’re making me a bit nervous,”; she said. “I’m just so sociologically programmed to want chocolate on Valentine’s Day.”;
