Hugh Jackman And Stephen Colbert Pay Tribute To ‘Creative Genius’ Stan Lee: ‘He Was A True Gentleman’

Hugh Jackman paid tribute to the late Stan Lee as he appeared on Monday’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.

It was revealed earlier on in the day that the comic book icon and war veteran had passed away aged 95, with tributes pouring in from around the world.

Colbert opened his show by telling Lee’s incredible story, before he introduced Jackman, who played “Wolverine” in the Marvel movies.

The Australian actor shared, “I remember Stan as a true gentleman who had this glint in his eye. He’s a creative genius.

“He thought outside the box. He created a whole universe that changed the lives of many people, mine included.”

Jackman went on: “If you ever want to get a real understanding of where you’re at in the world, you think ‘I’m Wolverine I’m walking in to Comic-Con.’ I was on this red carpet and I was the only one on there and no one was taking my photo because at the other end was Stan Lee.

“And there was about 300 photographers and interviewers just all on Stan.

“Stan god bless you, you’re one of the greats.”

Jackman’s interview comes after an attorney for Lee’s family confirmed the Marvel founder’s passing to ET.

“Paramedics responded to Stan Lee’s house in the Hollywood Hills early Monday morning for a medical emergency. He was transported to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center where he passed away shortly after,” a statement read.
